SOLDIER'S BODY FOUND
[by TKf.KCi It API! I'HKSS ASSOCIATION 1 DUN ED IN, Sunday A body clad in khaki trousers was found at high-water mark at Lower Portobello this morning. It is believed bv the police to he the body of Gunner Albert George Mallaquin, aged 21, a member of a coastal defence unit, who was drowned at Taiaroa Heads on July 2">. Gunner Mallaquin, whose parents live in Christthurch. was walking with another soldier along a narrow path which leads round a cliff on the seaward side of Taiaroa Heads when he slipped and fell into a deep hole under the cliff face.
