It is believed bv the police to he the body of Gunner Albert George Mallaquin, aged 21, a member of a coastal defence unit, who was drowned at Taiaroa Heads on July 2">. Gunner Mallaquin, whose parents live in Christthurch. was walking with another soldier along a narrow path which leads round a cliff on the seaward side of Taiaroa Heads when he slipped and fell into a deep hole under the cliff face.
