HOSPITAL VISITORS

BAN TO BE CONTINUED About two weeks have elapsed since tho last cerebro-spinal meningitis case was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, but the ban on visitors is to be continued. It was stated yesterday that this was partly because of the prevalence of measles among the public and the fear that it might be introduced to the hospital by visitors. Nurses at the hospital are stated to have benefited greatly from the ban on visitors and through the reduction of overcrowding by the establishment ol auxiliary hospitals at the Training College and Ellerslie racecourse. Many nurses were said to have suffered in health through having to work in overtaxed wards, and under such conditions the regular presence of hundreds of visitors had added to the strain imposed upon them.
