LINDRUM'S FINE BREAK

Horace Lindrum, the world snooker champion, played matches at the Commercial Travellers' Club last night. In billiards with M. D. White he compiled 578, including breaks of 206, 112, 73 and 90. White scored 188, including breaks of 40, 44 and 60. In games of snooker ho conceded his opponents 42 points. A featuro was a fine break of 91 in which ho cleared the table to win his match with N. Edgar by 107 points to 48. Other snooker games resulted: —Lindrum, 102 {breaks of 79, 20), beat S. 8. Wilson/ 45; Lindrum, 92 (break of 62), beat J. Molloy, 72; Lindrum, 117 (breaks of 32, 23, 23, 14, 20), beat J. White, 56. Lindrum will play at the Olympic Sports Room to-night. Open Championship,—ln last night's matches in the Auckland open snooker championship B. McKcnzie beat C. Benjamin, 56—36, 44 —70. 19 —47, and R. Carrick beat C. Spencer in two straight games, 74—31, 78 —30. Carrick gave a wonderful display of potting and recorded the highest break of the tournament so far —31. A. Phillips will play T. A. Massey at 7 o'clock to-night and R. Whitford will meet N. Alderton at 8 p.m
