The anomalies which now exist as the result of the New Zealand Association's rule, that competitors to be eligible to compete as juniors must he under the age of 18 years oil the commencing date of the tournament in which they are competing, were responsible for a recommendation to the New Zealand Association that a definite date be fixed to govern eligibility to compete as juniors throughout the season. It was suggested that such date should be December I, so that all players who may be under IS on that date would he eligible throughout that season, notwithstanding the fact that they may actually have attained the age of 18 years before the commencement of any particular tourney. Entries for inter-club competition m the grass court section will close this season on November 1 and matches will commence on November 15, while open grade matches will commence on November 22.
