LINDRUM AIDS ORPHANAGES Borneo Lindrum, world's snooker champion gave fin exhibition of billiards and snooker at Mr. G. Cox's billiard saloon. Symonds Street, on Saturday night, in aid of the combined orphanages. Tho law attendance, which included many ladies, thoroughly enjoyed the function, and generous donations were made at tho conclusion, approximately £2O being raised. Tho Australian pive his usual bright display of all-round billiards and scored 452 points, including breaks of 110, 07 and 42. C. T. Cummins, who opposed tho champion, scored 100 points, and made breaks of 03 and 34. In a series of snooker exhibitions, Lindrum's challengers, who each received 42 points start, donated 10s each to the fund. The games resulted:—Lindrum, 10S (breaks of 33. 3S, 24). beat. R. Miller. 00; Lindrum, fit (50), bent J. Cox, 51; Lindrum. so (47), beat W. Reid. 59; Lindrum, 81 (31), beat D. McTavish. 70. Lindrum was opposed by a team of five plavers in the next game. The team was thoroughly routed when the champion, at his third visit to the table, made a fine break of 78. In the final game, J. McGregor (receiving 42), scored a victory, making 92 to the champion's 77 (2S). Lindrum will give an exhibition at tho Y.M.C.A.. W henuapai. this evening.
