A fire with which a tragedy was associated occurred shortly after six o'clock this morning, when the main grandstand at Logan Park, which had seating accommodation for over 3000, was razed to the ground.
A search of the ashes some time after the fire had died out disclosed a severely-burned body, the identity of which has not yet been established. A quantity of machinery and sporting material, valued at some hundreds of pounds, which was stored in the stand, is a total loss. Police investigations as to the cause of the outbreak are proceeding.
