HARRIER RACING
Committee's Event.—Taking the lead only over the last half-mile, O. Young, powerfullybuilt Lynndale athlete, had a convincing win in the Auckland Harrier sub-committee's modified marathon held on Saturday afternoon over a strenuous 12 miles course front the City to St. Heliers and back. For the greater portion of the race both the winner and W. G. Long (Technical), were locked together and it was only Young's superior finish that won him victory. The runner-up. Long, also finished ir, that position last year. Young being fourth on that occasion. Detailed results were:—O. Young (Lynndale). 08m 41s, 1; W. ('r. Long (Technical), 08m 555, 2; R. L. Auckland Baptist Club.—The final official run of the club was held in the Owairaka Domain. A field day competition resulted in a win for J. Xacey in the senior cup and M. Fade in the junior section.
