Commander A. D. Holden, R.N.R, returned from the south yesterday. Mr. A. E. HAfford, chief inspector of fisheries, left for the south yesterday Major A. E. Harding, M.C., has arrived in Auckland after service overseas. Mr. F. M. Clarke arrived by air from Wellington yesterday, and is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Justice TyiidaH'and Messrs. W Cecil Prime and A. L. Monteith, of the Court of Arbitration, are visiting Hamilton. Mr. Justice Callan returned from Wellington yesterday, but owing to indisposition he will not conduct sittings of the Supreme Court this week. Commodore W. E. Parry. C.8., Chief of the Naval Staff, and Mrs. Parry arrived from the south yesterday to attend the launching of the minesweeper Rimu. Mr. K. D. Cossgrove, of the Auckland Area Manpower Committee staff, has been appointed secretary to the No! 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board, Hamilton, in succession to Mr. G. J. X. Grace, who is "entering the Army,
