Mr. D. Henry has returned frnm Wellington. Mr. C. L. Hunter, conciliation commissioner, returned from Wellington yesterday. Dr. R. G. McKirov was granted three months' leave of absence from meetings by the City Council last night, 011 account of military duties. Group-Captain S. Wnllingford is appointed an honorary aide-de-camp to the Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, according to a Gazette notice. Mr. W. H. Moves, headmaster of the New Plymouth Boys' High School for the past 20 years, has announced hi s intention of resigning owing to illhealth.
