(Grey Lynn) would be grateful if anyone could supply her with instructions for crocheting cotton gloves, buttoned at the wrist preferred. Knitted Gloves Answers to "Constant Reader's" request for a knitted glove pattern have been sent direct to the inquirer, as they were too lengthy to publish. They were received from M.L.P. (Katikati), R.H: (Tauranga) and M.S.D. (Kerikeri). Waterproofing a Car Cover J.P. (Point Chevalier). —C.P.H. (Birkenhead) suggests the following method:—l pint boiled linseed oil; Jib. mutton fat; 6oz. beeswax; 4oz. resin. Melt and mix these thoroughly and apply with a brush. As the mixture is highly inflammable, care must be taken while heating it. Egg Preserving C.P.H. (Birkenhead) has sent the following suggestions: —-Use one part of water glass (sodium silicate) to nine parts water. After mixing this, pour over the eggs already packed in a vessel. See they are well covered. Ihey will keep six to 12 months.
