ST. JOHN'S GUILD
CHURCH FUNDS AUGMENTED To augment the funds of St. John's Methodist Church, part of which will be used for renovation of the church organ, an At Home was held yesterday in the school hall by members of the women's guild. Mrs. W. A. Cooke welcomed the guests, among whom were representatives of other guilds which were once linked with St. John's. Items were given by Mrs. H. McLennan, Mrs. P. Adams, Miss D. Sharp and the Rev. A. Mitchell. Mrs. R. Reed was the accompanist. The Rev. A. E. Waite, the newly-appointed minister of the Auckland West circuit, thanked the artists and guild members. The hostesses and afternoon tea committee were:—Mrs. A. E. Waite, Mrs. A. A. Hambly. Mrs. A. E. McKenzie, Miss V. Arneil, Mrs. J. Matthews, Miss ,J. Thompson, Mrs. C. J. Green, Miss Bouskill, Mrs. W.
