JAPANESE SHIP
ARRIVAL DOUBTFUL NO FURTHER ADVICE SENT CARGO URGENTLY NEEDED Doubt whether she will enter port surrounds the Yamashita Kisen Kaisya motor-vessel Yamagiku Maru, which was due at Auckland yesterday morning from Kobe, via Noumea. The Japanese vessel was expected late on Monday night, but it was reported she had been delayed by unfavourable weather. However, other smaller vessels have been able to reach port in spite of the weather and it has been suggested that the Yamagiku Maru might be awaiting instructions from Japan. The ship's local agents, Russell and Somers, Limited, said yesterday that they had no further information regarding her arrival. A berth for the ship has been arranged at King's Wharf. The vessel, which has a cargo of timber and general merchandise, some of which is urgently needed in New Zealand, was expected to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lvttelton and Dunedin.
