THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE ADVANCE IN BANK ISSUES Gilt-edged securities and bank shares firmed on Llie Auckland Stork Exchange yesterday, but the upward movement 111 industrials spent itself, levels steadying at the advanced rales. Business was again strong in volume, the higher levels ruling for Government loans attracting more supplies, which were quickly taken up. Bank of New Zeulands made a further gain of (3d to 39s 6d, the best price they have made since the announcement of tho reduced dividend. Improved levels were also registered on sale by other bank shares, while for Nationals of New Zealand offers of 36s 6d attracted a selling quotation of 40s.
