SEATS ON POWER BOARD

COUNTY REPRESENTATION A decision to send a recommendation to the Minister of Supply; the Hon. P. G. Sullivan, to give the county increased representation on the Waiteniata Elcctric-Power Board, was reached at yesterday's meeting of, the Waitemata County Council. The chairman, Mr. S. Phillips, said it appeared that the county was entitled to another representative, and had been so entitled since 1938.

The county had n population of 14.55Q out of a total population in the area of 50,860, he continued, and the capital rateable value of the county was £5,004,213 of the total capital valuation of £13,435,565 of the power board district. The county was, therefore, entitled to a representation on the board of 4.16, instead of three members, as at present. Mr. Phillips said he had only recently become aware of the position.
