HOTEL NOT HEATED

ADVICE FROM VISITOR

SERVICE AND MEALS PRAISED (0.C.) ROTORUA, Frldny

A complaint at the lack of central heating in New Zealand hotels was voiced at Kotorua by Sir Evelyn Wrench, who arrived in the Dominion 12 days ago in the course of a tour of English-speaking countries. In spite of the lack of hearing, however, he praised the service in hotels.

"Considering the importance of the tourist traffic to Now Zealand, it is a pity that bote! proprietors have not done more for heating." said Sir Evelyn. "It is particularly noticeable after America, where the hotels maintain a temperature of about 78 degrees. That is hot, but here you have the other extreme."

Sir Evelyn said the most pleasing aspect of hotel service in New Zealand was its friendliness. Tariffs were only slightly higher than in the United States, 'but there the guest was merely a number in a large organisation. He also praised the meals in New Zealand hotels.

After spending five days in Rotorua Evelyn and Lady Wrench left by train for Wellington. They will visit the South Island after delivering a number of broadcasts and addresses on the English-Speaking Union.
