An Outdoor Game
GOOD game, rather like stand-all, is that usually called egg-hat. For this each player must put his cap or her hat in u row against a wall or against a bank in a field. From about live paces distant a ball is thrown into a cap, and he to whom the cap belongs must at once rush up. take the ball, and throw it at one of the other players, who are meanwhile scampering away as fast as they can. There is no call of "stand-all'' in this game. If the thrower hits another player, the one hit must put an "egg'' (the usual pebble) into his hat; if he misses, he himself must put an egg into his hat.
Whoever has to forfeit an egg. throws the ball into the line of caps again. As soon as a cap has three eggs in it, the owner must drop out of the game and take up his cap. —Copied, by A ilsn Finlayson (11)
