"HEAR ANNI. SHIHLKY, —More is an pxoellent method of growing sweet pea seeds: —The requirements are: One used tin, two clean pieces of blotting paper, sweet pea seeds The tin is padded with blotting ; >a; >t-r. and some water is added. Here it is possible to luhi a little alum This is not actually necessary. hut it stops any tendency to mildew. The seeds are now placed in the water in the tin. and the other piece of blotting paper pi a cod over the top. It is'most important to keep the paper damp This may be done in two •ways: (It Change the water even day; I'J) by placing the tin in such a position as to have the edges of the top ■piece ol paper always in water The paper absorbs this and is thus kept continually damp. .After about two days the seeds begin to sprout The top pit per must then be removed, hut the bottom paper must be kept damp W'lo-n the shoots are about two and a-lntll inches high, they may he planted out The trench, of course, should alreadv be dug and made ready.
