OBITUARY

MR. J. A. LA TROBE (OC.) HAMILTON. Friday The death has occurred in Hamilton of Mr. James Abraham La 1 robe, aged 79. Mr. La I'robe spent the greater part of his life farming in the Te Uku and Nowstead districts. He was a justice of the peace. He is survived by a family of four. MR.. ALFRED HILFORD (0.C.1 WHAXGAREI, Friday The death has occurred in M hangarei of Mr. Alfred Hilford. aged 73. Born in Auckland, Mr. Hilford came north with his parents when only 12 months old Flis: parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert. Hilford, were among tho first to settle in the Waikickie district. Mr. Hilford spent ln.s life in Waikickie, farming a block of 2000 acres, until he retired to live in Whangarei 15 years ago lie was not married.
