The quarterly meeting of the national council oi the Federating of Labour was opened in Wellington to-day. The national secretary, Mr. F. IX Cornwell. said to-night that "ordinarv domestic business" had been discussed When asked whether any consideration had been given to the current public controversy on the 40-hour week, Mr Cornwell replied: "The subject has not even been mentioned yet." The meeting will continue to-morrow.
