ELECTION PLANS URGED A definite statement that there is not going to be a National Government is made in an editorial in the Labour paper, the Standard. "Without further ado we must get on with the job oT preparing for an election," the article says. It expresses the view that the coming election will be the hardest fought in the history ot New Zealand. AUCKLAND WEST SEAT DECISION OF MR. DARLOW An intimation that he did not intend to accept nomination as the National Party candidate to contest the Auckland West seat at the general election has been given by Mr. W. B. Darlow. WELLINGTON ACTIVITY PURGING OF THE ROLLS ("by telegrath —rRF.SS association] 'WELLINGTON, Wednesday There is great activity in electoral offices associated with all Wellington constituencies. A general purging of the rolls has commenced, and voters are receiving notices through the post relating to their enrolment on the old roll. This is utilised as a check, and if the notices are returned undelivered it is an indication to the electoral office that there has been a change'of address or that the voter not continue to hold his former qualification.
