Proposals that the consolidated rate of 9gd in the pound remain the same and that the sanitation rate be reduced by Id to 3hi in the pound were contained in the estimates presented by the chairman of the Finance Committee. Mr. A. lladtiehl, to the Birkenhead Borough Council last night. T lio proposals were adopted. it was decided to donate £lO 10s to the Fighting Forces Fund. The nomination of Mr. T. C. Hobbs-.Tones for the vacancy on the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council was supported.
