GOLF CONTESTS
MOTOR TRADES' DAY
FIGHTERS' MOTHER FUND
SPLENDID FINANCIAL RESULT Through the efforts of those associated with the annual golf tournament staffed at the Akarana Club's links yesterday by the Auckland motor and allied trades, the sum of well over £2OO was collected in aid of the Fish tors' Mother Fund. The entry of ill plavers lar exceeded the total anticipated b> the'committee controlling the event. Flay was of a care-free nature, and the winners of all prizes gave then) back to assist the fund. A feature of the afternoon was the running of an imaginary round-thc-city race, and this realised a very large sum of money. A running commentary by Mr. Jack Taylor was cleverly done, and created much diversion. A •mock court was another excellent source of revenue, Mr. P. Sea brook being chief justice.
