PALMERSTOX XORTH, Tuesday After continuous rain throughout the night, the tracks were very heavy at Awapuni this morning. The course proper and the steeplechase course were closed and the galloping was done on the trial grass. Du Maurier iG. R. Tattersall) and Ruatiti (J. K. Searle) were timed to run six furlongs in 1.21, which was good. Aurora's Star (H. P. Stewart) was in front of Gaelic Song (S. Waddell) after a useful gallop over seven furlongs. Both' went well. Swell Chance (E. Tenipcrton) ran five furlongs in 1.0, handling the going well. Rangitikei (Searle) was in front of Auburn Lad (Tattersall) at the end of five furlongs in 1.10. Etruscan (J. Chaplin) and Renascor (W. J. Broughton) ran six furlongs in 1.25. Squeers (A. Anderson) was not asked to do better than even time. Manteau and Foxiana were restricted to strong paco work. Limbohm, the only visitor on the tracks, was given easy exercise. He looks well. Brazil (Anderson) had his nose in front of Colerica (Broughton) at the end •of six furlongs ill 1.25. Myarion (Waddell) and Tau-uru (J. Fagan) ran five furlongs in 1.0 3-5. Old Bill (Tattersall), in his first real fast work since Wellington, was timed to run four furlongs in 555. L. Wilson is pleased with his condition. Ara (F. Budhanan) strode over five furlongs in 1.13 2-5. Gamepit (M. Wright) worked once round at a Rood strong pace. Colonel Bogey (Broughton) and Manahau (Tattersall) ran the last four of five furlongs in 50s. Henry of Huntingdon (Buchanan) was kept to even lime over five furlongs. Miss Lelghon (Anderson) was in front of Self Preservation (Stewart) at, the end of five furlongs, but tho pace was on only over the last bit. Miss Leighon looks to be none the worse for her race at Hastings. St. Felicien (M. Bowden) was In front of Blue Lagoon (R. B. Ireland) at the end of five furlongs in 1.10. Deflation (J. Bowness) was timed to run the last four of five furlongs in 575. Sanction (Waddell) worked pleasingly over six furlongs in 1.24. It was one of the best efforts of the morning. Jeanne went well over three furlongs in 41s. Sweet Anne (Broughton) sprinted five furlongs in 1.10 1-5. Star Zone (Waddell) could have improved upon 1.20 for six furlongs. Haile Selassie was given a working gallop. Cloverlea King sprinted two furlongs down the straight in 20 2-ss. TO CORRESPONDENTS " Leitrim," Morrinsville. Paganelli (T. Creen), Antique (H. Goldfinch) and Gold Money (L. Manson) ran a triple dead-heat for first in the Takapuna Jockey Club Handicap, nine furlongs, at Takapuna on January 31, l'J3l. A.G.8., Auckland.—Dusky Morn did not start in the Farewell Hack Handicap, won by Smiling Personality, at Gisbornc on May 12. Therefore she could not be bracketed with Smiling Personality.
