He played an outstanding game against the Papakura Army side last Saturday apart from his goal-kicking, which helped lo win the match for his team. Ewcrt handles the ball well and gives accurate passes. His backing up is a splendid feature of his play, and on Saturday last he saved his team lime after time vvli'n the Army forwards or backs had broken past the other defenders. Ewcrt uses Ihe line-kick very judiciously, and his powerful punts gain much useful ground. They save his forwards a lot, and assist very materially in taking dash out of the opposing pack. He is also a determined tackier. It will be remembered that Ewcrt played a big part in Takapuna's defeat of Marist in the championship last year and, as he is now maintaining form equally as good, he must be seriously taken into consideration lot representative honour*
