LACK OF PUBLIC SUPPORT The statement that only 25 subscriptions from private citizens, apart from business firms and members of the council, had been received during the year ended March 31, 19-11, was made 'by the vice-president, Captain R. S. Lewis, at the annual meeting of tho Auckland Sailors' Home last night. "If the seamen are doing their duty it is up to us, the citizens of Auckland, to do our duty and support the men who will be returning and will need to he provided for," said the president, Mr, C. J. Carrington, in mentioning that the home's commitments would probably be heavier in. the future.
