NO SHORTAGE OF TROUT
HIGH STRIPPING RETURNS ROTORUA, Sunday 1 here was no shortage of fish either at Tokaanu or Lake I a raw era, according to reports from men engaged in stripping operations there, said Mr. Koan, conservator of fish and game. Compared with a similar date last season, 860,000 ova had been taken against 422,000.
Last year had boon a record, but probably the total figure would be exceeded this stripping, continued Mr. Koan. Tho condition of the fish was excellent, and they were from lib. to l'i'ltf. heavier this year in the Tongariro River. A pleasing feature was the large number of 41b. to 61b. trout in Lako Tarawera.
