FORECAST FOR AUCKLAND 1 : CLOUDY AND UNSETTLED The Government meteorologist issued ■to the Herald last evening the following forecast for the Auckland Province:—Winds from a southerly quarter, strong at times in the north, otherwise moderate to fresh. Weather cloudy and unsettled, with scattered drizzle and later rain. Temperatures moderate. Sea rough at times. Further outlook: Temperatures becoming colder, with showery weather. Seas rough in Cook and Foveaux Straits and later on the cast coast of the South Island. Hather rough south of Cape Kgmont. otherwise moderate. Weather unsettled generally and possibly becoming stormy east, of the main ranges. Rain at times in most districts, with some isolated heavy falls, hut conditions soon improving in West land and later becoming changeable and showery in the far south. Temperatures falling considerably, especially east, of the ranges, with snow on the higher country in both islands.
