rotob.ua tournament TESULTS OF MATCH PLAY TITLE-HOLDER ELIMINATED (0.C.) ROTORUA, Wednesday After two rounds of match play the following remain to contest the semi-finals and final to-morrow of the Rotorua ladies' open golf championship:—Miss if. Kellick (W.mganui), Mrs. It. C. Cook (Wanganui), Miss K. O'Sullivan (Hawera), Mrs. E. L. Barker (Rotorua). After beating Mrs. P. 1!. Olanville (To Awamutn) in the first round the title-holder, Miss M. I list on (Pnlmerston North). was eliminated in the second round by Miss o'.Sullivan. Miss Illston appeared to be feeling the effects of her strenuous morning match, in which she and Mrs. Glanville reached the 23rd hole. The play all round was of a higher standard than that shown in the qualifying rounds, the course being again in excellent order. The best round of the day was that of Mrs. Cook, 7:'., n score with which Mrs. Barker holds tho record for the present course. Mrs. Cook, who was runner-up last year, looks like going close to the honours again on this occasion. Mrs. G. ,T. O. Booth (Poverty Bay) is proving herself one of the most consistent players, as, after two fairly even rounds yesterday, she returned 7G and 77 to-day. Mrs. S. Foreman (Miramar) came home this morning in :! I and in 3G in the afternoon, but her outward halves were not so good. Three of the matches in the first round of the championship continued beyond the full course, while close finishes were witnessed in two other contests, that in which Mrs. S. fi. Wilson (Auckland) beat Mrs. J. M. Allison (Titirangi), 1 up, and the other when Mrs. I}. S. Deighton (Titirangi) beat Miss X. Smillie (Palmerston North), 2 and 1. Mrs. Allison was unfortunate at tho fifth hole, where her caddie allowed a putt to hit the pin. The ball dropped in. but the breach cost the player the hole.
