MONEY FOR BRITAIN
FARMERS' SUGGESTION A proposal that New Zealand should give Great Britain £10.000,000 a year so long as the need exists, is to be submitted to the Auckland provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union by the . Auckland suburbs branch. At its meeting yesterday it was decided to request the executive to consider the following resolution and, if approved, to forward it to the Government: — "That to help Britain's financial war burden, the Now Zealand Government rive Britain £10.000,000 annually as long as the need exists by the following plan:—That, subject to all possible labour and other aid from the government, the farmers, after soling to the Government their normal uitput at a normal price, undertake to iroduce a further 20 per cent and sell :o the Government at cost price for •xport and sale for American dollars ;o Britain's credit; that the Minister of finance, Mr. Nash, be asked to connilt Britain as to the practicability; ind that the use of Reserve Bank iredit for paying the farmers would be ustified if necessary.''
