PATRIOTIC COLLECTION
ACTION BY YUGOSLAVS A decision by the Yugoslav community to assist the patriotic funds for New Zealanders has been announced by the Yugoslav Consul, Mr. J. M. Totich. It is intended that the Yugoslav community organise and conduct a street collection on Saturday. May 10, on the occasion of the home defence preparedness parade, ''My countrymen are deeply aware of the necessity for patriotic funds and know that the gallant Anzacs must be provided for, both in the way of comforts during training and while overseas. We know that provision must be made ior their rehabilitation." said Mr. Totich. "We can do .nothing for our people in our own land. May we help I the gallant sons of the country of our adoption, those whose purpose in fighting is to ensure that such a fate as has overwhelmed our own dear land will not overtake this beautiful country." The offer to organise the collection has been gratefully accepted by the committee organising the Fighting Forces Fund, and the proceeds will go' toward the metropolitan quota of the All Purposes Appeal.
