INVERCARGILL FIELDS The Southland Racing Club's Winter Meeting will be held at Tnvercargill today. 'Pile fields are not strong mi metrically, but the class is_ even in the various races and interesting sport is promised. The betting will be under the win and place- system. Telegraphing last evening the Herald's correspondent stated that the weather was not very promising, and the going would be heavy.
