BEGINNING THE DAY

(Supplied by the Council of Christian Congregations) Text.—Lo, 1 am with thee all the days. Matthew, xxviii.; 20. Prayer.—Lord, help us to remember that Thou art ever with us, tho unseen guest, the silent listener, the comrade and friend that sticketh closer than a brother, for in Thee wo live and move and have our being. How easy it is to realise Thy presence with us when all things go well, when life is one sweet song, when skies are bright and sunny. But help us, Lord, to remember Thee when days are dark, when friends fail and forsake us, when sorrow and bereavement are our portion here below. Thou hast said in Thy Word, "I will never leave theo nor forsake thee. I will never, never let go your hand." Amen.
