Women Teachers in Famous Schools
At Eton and Harrow
A NUMBKII of famous puulie schoolin Britain now have women teaching 'on their staffs, writes a London correspondent. The calling up of younger masters for the forces, and the "seconding" by the Government of many schoolmasters <t mong tl em many of the older men who might have been the "Mr. Chips" of this war) for skilled mathematical find scientific work, has made it difficult for public schools to find masters to fill their-vacancies. The headmaster of Harrow, Mr. Churchill's old school, has already engaged one woman, and intends to take on others as more masters are cal'fd up. Eton and Oundle also have women teaching now. iMore women, too, aro teaching in secondary schools, and local education authorities have no hesitation in bringing in women to replace the masters who have gone.
