BURNS' ANNIVERSARY

OTAHUHU CELEBRATION The anniversary of ihe birth of Robert Burns, the Scottish poet, was commemorated at a dinner held by the Otahuhu Caledonian Society in the Otahuhu Public Hall on .Saturday night. The chief, Mr. A. Stephen, welcomed a gathering representative of practically all the Scottish societies in the Auckland district. The principal toast, "The Immortal Memory," was given by Mr. A. J. Sinclair, of To Auaniutii. He interspersed his address with piano solos presenting several of Burns' songs. The haggis was piped to the fable by Piper J. Banks and the address was delivered by Mr. I!. Allan. The musical programme comprised songs by Mrs. Rattray and Mr. (JemmoU, solos and violin selections by Mrs. Ailkenhead. national dances by Miss Nodder and piping selections by Messrs. 11. Amor and .J. Banks.
