A Pet Goose
T)EAR ANNE SHIRLEY, —I want to _ tell you about mv little goose which my eldest sister. Thelma, brought home one clay as she was out mustering with my brother Tom. When the goose was brought home slip was about a day old and a little ball of yallow and grey fluff. When she was young I fed her on pollard and water-cress till she was about a month old. Then she was fed on maize and pollard. Now she is two and a half months old and is nearly a full grown goose. She loves me to turn the tap on in the wash-house, then she
stands under the water and thinks she is having a grand time. Sometimes 1 take her to the creek, but instead of swimming she shovels about in the mud. If I hold her in my arms she pulls my hair and ribbon, also the buttons on my dress. —Love from Elizabeth Coates (12), Kaiwaka.
