SOLDIERS' NEEDS

NEW APPEAL LAUNCHED An appeal for a variety of necessities for inclusion in parcels to be sent- to men in the fighting forces overseas is being launched by the Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Committee. Specifically asked for are khaki handkerchiefs, tinned cakes of soap, black bootlaces, safety razor blades, small tins of boracic or foot powder, and writing paper and envelopes. It is also hoped that the public will donate tins of condensed milk, fruits, sweets and cakes for despatch to the men. Tins of approximately lib. have been found most satisfactory, and can be left at the Women's Activities ..Committee rooms in Shortland Street. Cash donations also will be welcomed.
