An interior control is provided which requires the cooperation of the driver helore the bonnet can be lifted. Only four of the 1940 model cars were so equip[X'd. The (ho ice proved so popular with the motoring public that loot the I'.Mi models have the locked bonnet as standard equipment. One advantage of thin safeguard is that it prevents theft of under-the-bonnet equipment- or tampering with the power unit and its accessories.
