EX-KING'S FRIEND

VILLA NOW A SHOW PLACE Mme. Lupescu's luxurious villa in Bucharest's most fashionable suburb has become a show place under Iron Guard supervision, writes a special correspondent Of a London paper. "Legionaries" act as conductors, and show crowds over the villa at about 6d. a head, on behalf of "Legionary Winter Help" funds. The public are able to inspect Mme. Lupescu's boudoir, her autograph books and photographs, many of which bear the signatures of well-known statesmen. There are also four gramophones on which she and ex-King Carol played their favourite records together. The conducting Legionaries make much captial of the lavish spending on precious antiques, silk tapestries, and Persian carpets, with which the villa is furnished.
