Snowy Bingeu, on -tsyds, won a race last term, and Cynic, 60yds, won the second division ni" the December Handicap at Epsom last month. Cynic, who is an improving mare by Giro, son of Wrack, has a later engagement in the Bruntwood Handicap, in which she is mi the limit. Belfast Jack has been withdrawn from the Summer Handicap, leaving Katene and I'loverdale to represent the stable, and they form a sound combination. Their most dangerous rivals may be Crucible and Stargum. Belfast .lack and Clovcrdale comprise a bracket in the President's Handicap, in which strong opposition should be forthcoming from Crucible, .if started again. STAKES INCREASED FEBRUARY MEETING AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB Prize-money totalling £1075. representing an increase of £'725 on last year's figures, is featured for the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting to be held at Alexandra Park, Epsom, on February s and 12. The increase is general, covering all handicap events, except the Papakura Handicap, in which the distance has been reduced from one and a-half miles to one and a-quarter miles, and ttie limit extended to 2.55, as against 3.27, equal to 2.51, last year. The principal handicap races on the first day are the Otahuhu Handicap, ol £soo, limit 3.21; Railway Handicap, of C3OO, limit 4.4 1; and February Handicap, of £275, for trotters, limit 4.57. Belfast Jack (Dunn), who is bearing a healthy appearance, worked over two rounds, coming home his last half-mile in 1.7 2-5. Noble Prince broke three furlongs from home, but recovered smartly and was on terms with Albertini bill several lengths behind Narbada, who lacks nolhing on the score of condition.
