AFTERNOON WEDDING

LINTON—MORTON SMITH BRIDE'S METALASSE GOWN ATTENDANTS IN PALE GREEN A wedding of interest took place at St. David's Church yesterday afternoon, when Miss Jenn Morton Smith, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Morton Smith, of Cockle Bay, Auckland, was married to the Rev. James Alexander Linton, only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Linton, of To Ore Ore, Masterton. The Rev. AY. Bower Black officiated, assisted by the Rev. J. Douglas Smith, uncle of the bride. A graceful gown of white metalas.se threaded with silver was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. Fashioned on slim-fitting lines, the corsage was cut with a V neckline and long sleeves, while the skirt fell in soft folds to form a circular train. The veil of white tulle was held with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of cream flowers. Picture frocks of pale green hroderie Anglaise over taffeta were worn by the bridesmaids. Miss Catherine Gooder, of Wellington, and Miss Phyllis Linton, of Masterton. The corsages were fashioned with Peter Pan collars and short puff sleeves, while the skirts were fully flared to the hemline. They wore pale green georgette turbans and carried bouquets of apricot-toned flowers. The. bridegroom was attended by the Rev. ,T. S. Somerville as best man and by Mr. Robert Tait as groomsman. Acting as ushers at the church were Messrs. William Ken 11 and K. Wodham. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Milne and Choyce Reception Hall. To receive her guests Mrs. Morton Smith wore a graceful frock of navy blue georgette and a navy hat. She carried a bouquet of dark red roses and carnations. Mrs. Linton, the bridegroom's mother, wore a smartly-cut Burgundy frock and a toning hat. Her bouquet was of blue delphiniums. Mrs. Norman Gooder, of Wellington, grandmother of the bride, wore a black and white georgette ensemble and carried a bouquet in cyclamen tonings.
