FLIGHT ACROSS TASMAN
AWARUA'S TRIP TO-DAY The Tasman Empire Airways' flyingboat Awarua, under the command of Captain 0. Garden, will leave at six o'clock this morning for Sydney with ]4 passengers, 5501b. of mail, and 101b. of freight. The. Awarua will return from Syd ii ey to-tnorrow. The passengers are:—Mr. and Mrs. E. Batterwort.li. Mr. and Mrs. ,T. Russell, Mr. and Mrs. H. Kincheloe, Archbishop T. Evangelinidis, Messrs. F. J. Wylie. L. Humphreys, W. Hardy, C. Smith. .T. Robertson, J. Creamer and S. Kaaten. PROGRESS OF THE CLIPPER CANTON ISLAND BEACHED On the second stage of the flight from Auckland to San Francisco the Pan American Airways Honolulu Clipper left Noumea at 6.20 a.m. New Zealand time yesterday and arrived at Canton Island at 7.57 p.m. New Zealand time yesterday. The Clipper will stay at Canton Island a day before continuing the flight to Honolulu and San Francisco. Leaving San Francisco on Saturday the next south-bound Clipper is expected at Auckland on January 16.
