INTENSE COLD IN FRANCE
LONDON, Dec. 20 A message from Clermont Ferrand, south of Vichy, says intense cold prevails in the greater part of France, especially in the higher central region. The temperature in the region of Toulouse, which is usually mild, at midday yesterday was nine degrees under freezing point, and last night was 22 degrees below freezing point.
