Flowers' Mistake

T)EAR ANNE SHIRLEY,—This letter is about my lettuce garden which turned out to lie a flower bed. First of all I planted two rows of lettuce seeds hut, instead, some pansies, linarias, irises and antirhinums came up. One side of the garden is a row of beetroot and the other side potatoes. Why this happened was because a great deal of rubbish was thrown there, and these plants and some marigolds started to flower. This garden is fourteen feet long and two feet wide. The plants are standing up straight and patting themselves on the back, because they came into sight before the lettuces. 1 think they are very cheeky, don't you, Anne Shirley?—From your member, Avonne Rogers (10), Kio Kio.
