KRUPP'S BOMBED

400 WORKERS KILLED RECENT TOLL IN BERLIN GERMANS LEARN FACTS By Telegraph—, Press Association —Copyright (Received December 15, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 14 A bomb which the Royal Air Force dropped on Krupp's armaments factory ill Essen penetrated a shelter under the works, killed 100 workers and injured 1800. A bomb dropped in a recent raid on Berlin broke a water main and simultaneously blocked a shelter, which was Hooded. As a result TOO persons were drowned. A British United Press correspondent on the German frontier says he has been assured that these reports are authentic. They are certainly widely believed in Germany, where the facts ol the Royal Air Force raids are spreading slowly among the population. Difficult weather was experienced by British aircraft in their attacks on Germany last night, says the British official wireless. Attacks were made on shipbuilding yards at Kiel, on factories, on the Bremen docks, on aerodromes in Holland, and the submarine base at Bordeaux. No British aircraft was lost. Incendiary and high explosive bombs were dcopped on Bremen, and after the attack the glow of strong fires penetrated the clouds. The attack on the U-boat base at Bordeaux was short and destructive, A hit on some big quayside buildings was followed by a succession of brilliant blue flashes, and an even more spectacular explosion occurred near the gates of a dock. CEASELESS ONSLAUGHT WEEK OF HEAVY ATTACKS MANY MILITARY OBJECTIVES (Received December 15, fi.3o p.m.) British "Wireless ' LONDON, Dee. 14 Another week of widespread and heavy attacks on Germany and occupied territory concluded at dawn yesterday. In spite of extremely unfavourable weather over 42 attacks were made on military objectives, apart from a greatnumber of raids on aerodromes. Dusseldorf, which was raided on two successive nights, suffered heavy attacks on blast furnaces, steelworks and armament works. A feature of these raids was the number of fires started, one of which was described as "the largest ever seen." From all operations during the week 12 British aircraft failed to return. Photographs taken by the Royal Air Force immediately after a raid on Kiel early in July have been released and show incontrovertibly the severe damage done to the enemy war machine. One picture shows the Mater in the harbour partially covered with a substance which probably came from pipelines broken by the bomb attack. The heaviest damage ashore was caused to the main power station and to a torpedo and gun store of the naval arsenal. The battle-cruiser Scharnhorst is shown in the floating dock, and experts consider that the foremost control tower was damaged. In dry dock is the pocket battleship Lutzow —originally' known as the Deutschland, This ship, which had been damaged by the submarine Spearfish in the Skagerrak, was believed still to be undergoing repairs in dry dock, and it is reasonable to assume that she was further damaged in the July air raid.

PROTEST TO SPAIN HIGH HAND IN TANGIER ADMINISTRATION DISMISSED ITALIAN SUBMARINES LEAVE (B.eceived December 15, 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless LONDON, Dec. 13 It is confirmed in London that the Spanish authorities at Tangier to-day dissolved the international administration. They dismissed all the officials and replaced the police with a Spanish security guard. A vigorous protest was at once made by the British Consul-General, and it is learned in London that" a serious view is taken of the Spanish action. The British officials affected include a British Judge, the British Finance Minister and his treasurer, a high police official and other lesser officials. Other nations also are affected, and it is presumed that there will be other protests, as on the previous occasion of the infraction of the Tangier Statute by Spain. An official statement issued in Madrid says that under the law passed on November 23, extending Moroccan law to Tangier, a high commissioner has taken over all services dependent on the International Administration, which is dissolved.
