AFTERNOON WEDDING

BARNARD-RICHARDS BRIDE IN IVORY SATIN CEREMONY AT KING'S CHAPEL The marriage of Miss Zoe Alice Richards, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Richards, of Papatoetoe, and Mr. William Edward Barnard, elder son of Mr. F. H. Barnard, of Manurewa, took place at King's Collego Chapel on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. K. Small officiated and Mr. Sanders was tin* organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory embossed bridal satin with a heart-shaped neckline and slight fullness at each shoulder. The skirt fell from a vandyked waistline to form a very full train, above which was a double bustle effect. Her tulle veil, which was worn over the bride's face as she entered the church, was caught with a halo of orange blossom. She carried r sheaf of madonna lilies. In attendance were Miss Betty Hoyworth an ( | -Miss Bona Willerton. as bridesmaids, Jeanetto Watkin as flower girl and David Watkin as page boy. The bridesmaids were in hyacinth blue taffeta frocks with square necklines, short puff sleeves and bustle waistlines. Gold lilies and roses were worn on their heads and the same flowers were featured in their sheaf bouquets.

The little flower girl was in a \ ictorian frock of hyacinth blue taffeta and a blue net Dolly Varderi bonnet with pink sprays under tlie brim. She carried a posy of pink flowers. The page boy was in a white satin suit with lace ruffles. Mr. Hugh Fleming attended the bridegroom as best man and Mr. Ralph Jenkins as groomsman. A ceremony was afterward held at the Mount Eden lea Kiosk, where Mrs. Richards received her guests wearing a frock of black mechlin lace with a black straw hat and skunk cape. Her bouquet was of deep crimson gladioli. Mrs. I'. 11. Barnard wore a black satin-hacked crepe ensemble embroidered in white and silver, and a plnin black picture hat. Her bouquet was of mauve gladioli. CATHEDRAL CEREMONY LANGFOR I)—-KELLY The wedding took place at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Saturday morning of Miss Nancy Kelly, only daughter of Mrs. C. Kelly and the late Mr. A. Kelly, of Mount. Street, Auckland, and Mr. William Langlord. eldest, son of Mr. nnd Mrs. .J. Langford, Pakuranga. The Rev. Dr. Buxton officiated and celebrated tlie Nuptial Mass. assisted by the Rev. Father J. Downey. Miss Nell Orniond was the organist and solos wore sung by Mr. John Hogan. The bride, who was given away by her uncle. Mr. .J. Grace, wore a frock of ivorv appliqued georgette crepe with a Brussels lace veil. She carried a bouquet of Christmas lilies. Attending her as bridesmaids were Miss M. Rvan. Mi ss M. Langlord. sister of the bridegroom. and Miss Patricia Burns, of Wellington. They wore frocks of primrose taffeta with matching picture hats and each carried a sheaf of roses. Tin* bridegroom was attended by bis brother. Mr. Dennis Langlord, and by Mr. Frie Wickntan. Acting ;is ushers at the Cathedral were Mr. J. Langford and Mr. I. Metford. Following the ceremony a reception was held at Point Friii Kiosk, where the guests were received by Mrs. Kelly, mother of the bride, assisted by Mrs. Langford. mother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Kelly's ensemble was of rust georgette. with which she wore a spray of carnations, and Mrs. Langford had a navy embossed crepe satin frock with a spray of carnations on the lapel.
