MONEY FOR CHRISTMAS
- I Sir. —Rending of earlier payments of j pensions, etc., to allow recipients to hare same before Christmas, moves me to wonder whether payments to soldier's j wives and dependants could not he made earlier also. We receive an allotment on December 13, therefore next fortnightly one will fall on December 27, and, naturally, will mean a lean Christmas, and much disappointment in homes like mine, with three young children.
