"New Zealanders arc notoriously wasteful in the use of paper," said the Minister of Supply, the Hon. I) G. Sullivan, when appealing for economy in tliis direction. He said that if shoppers would carry a basket many articles could ho carried awav unwrapped. "Consultations between the Government and those industries which use paper in large quantities have been held," Mr. Sullivan added. "To ensure the best results being achieved, aPaper Economy Advisory Committee is being formed. It is expected that this committee, which will advise the Government on the possibilities of conserving paper of all kinds, will be operating early next year."
