A double page is devoted to spectacular scenes in the Far North of Maori musterers with great mobs of cattle at To Paki station. The hirthday of the Kmpire leader. .Mr. Winston ('hurehill, is the occasion for ar, interesting page showing the world's most famous man with his wife and son. posing for the camera at No. 10 Downing Street, reviewing a battalion of Polish soldiers, and striding along on his way to Parliament. The South Island flying training school, at Harewood. has provided the photographer with some fine character studies among the keen young students, while, as a contrast to air training. there is a page of pictures of artillery forces at practice and on trek under the shadow of Mount Ruapehu. Cheerful Londoners are seen enjoying a concert underground at a tube railway station, and a picture of wrecked taxis in Leicester Square reveals some of the damage done in the indiscriminate bombing of London. Members of the St. John Ambulance Mounted Auxiliary at Gisborne recently completed a course of specialised training and the nurses are seen with their horses and receiving instruction in first-aid, mounted drill and care of their mounts. New Zealanders who arrived in England to train for the Navy, others arriving in Canada under the Empire air training scheme, and yet others, talking with Mr. Anthony Eden in Egypt, provide pictures of special interest. There are many other interesting pictures. The letterpress section includes many regular features known throughout the Dominion and. in addition there are topical articles on the Greek campaign, the Japanese push in IndoChina, the German annexation of Lorraine, the problem of dealing with the night raiding bomber, and the German fuel oil smuggling bases in the Caribbean.
