In February hist, year the new technical block at the Rotorua High School, costing €IO.OOO. was completed, and this was followed in August of the same year by the opening of a new primary school which was erected at: a cost of £14.000, Most expensive of the three buildings, the Whakarewarewa native school, will cost £IO.OOO. owing to extra equipment now specified by the Government in the erection of large native schools. In addition to the main block of six open-air classrooms, there will be a technical block and a model cottage, while apart from the rest of the school buildings, will be the headmaster's residence. The. staff at Whakarewarewa will have an opportunity of teaching Maori girls modern home management. For this purpose a model cottage has been 11u j It and in it pupils will be allowed to "keep house" themselves.
