SEASIDE CAMP
HOLIDAY FOR CHILDREN 300 TO BENEFIT THIS YEAR [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Monday The annual camp conducted by the Waikato Children's Camp League at Port Waikato will open this year on December 27, when 150 children of parents in poor circumstances will begin a three weeks' seaside holiday under ideal circumstances. At the end of the three weeks a further 150 children will enter camp, so that a total of 300 will have benefited, the cost being about £7OO or £BOO. The camp is composed of permaner;t buildings on a beautiful native area of about 120 acres. At present about £4OOO is being spent on improvements and alterations, but these will not be completed until next year. During the last 13 years nearly 3000 children have benefited from a holiday spent at the camp in health, mental and spiritual outlook and discipline. Organised and conducted by its chairman, Mr. W. H. Paul, and its seeretarv, Mrs. H. C. Boss, the camp league lias been operating ever since 1927.
